We are pleased to announce the publication of the Proceedings of the International Conference on Fire Safety and Resilience of the Built Environment – ICFIRE 2026, held on 22–23 July 2026 at BMICH, Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Organized by Amber Laboratory (Pvt) Ltd., the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) Sri Lanka Chapter, and the University of Moratuwa, ICFIRE 2026 was held under the theme “Advancing Fire-Resilient Materials and Systems for Future-Proofing Sustainable Built Environments.”
The ICFIRE 2026 Proceedings bring together the abstracts of the technical contributions presented by leading international and local experts. It covers a diverse range of fire-safety topics, including performance-based fire safety engineering, structural fire engineering, fire dynamics and smoke movement, fire-resistant materials, research and innovations, artificial intelligence in fire safety, passive fire protection testing and compliance, fire safety regulations and standards, computational modelling, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Electric Vehicles (EVs), artificial intelligence and IoT applications in fire protection, façade fire safety, and forensic fire investigation.
The proceedings also feature the keynote presentation by Prof. Priyan Mendis of the University of Melbourne, titled “Fire Engineering and Design: Emerging Trends in Performance Testing and Compliance”.
This publication serves as a valuable reference for fire-safety professionals, engineers, architects, researchers, academics, policymakers, regulators and industry stakeholders, while preserving and sharing the knowledge exchanged during ICFIRE 2026.
Through the publication of these proceedings, Amber Laboratory continues its commitment to advancing fire-safety research, technical knowledge, professional collaboration and the development of safer and more resilient and sustainable built environments.
